Concrete Colouring Options

We avoid the consumption of new materials when we polish concrete but not everyone feels at home in grey. Colouring concrete is a great way to bring elegance and warmth to a space. Colour enhances the concrete’s tonal differences, subtle cracks and aggregates revealing the “nature” of concrete. Different colors and application techniques combine to create a finish that’s unique. With subtle variations across the floor, you will never have a floor exactly like someone else’s. Design and decorate your space from the floor up.

Acid Stain Benefits

Acid stains are a mixture of water, hydrochloric acid, and acid soluble metallic salts. The acid etches the surface allowing the metallic salts to penetrate the concrete. The stain penetrates the surface and stimulates a chemical reaction with the hydrated lime found in the concrete. Once the reaction occurs, the stain is a permanent part of the concrete. The reaction produces a translucent colour with varying intensity depending on the condition of the substrate it is applied to.
